Amelia went in for her 6 month checkup last week. She is such an itty bit. She weighed in at a whopping 13 pounds 7 ounces (5-10 percentile) and was 24 1/4 inches long. She didn't enjoy her shots, and I think she was running a bit of a fever the following day. Thankfully, she's over it.

She's been eating her rice cereal well, and we've now graduated to real food. She started her sweet potatoes the other day although she gagged on the last two bites. Josh and I were both laughing at her funny faces...it's hard not to!
She has also started "crawling". It looks more like an uncoordinated inch worm scoot. Cute nonetheless. Claire and Meredith were delighted to watch her scoot around the family room after a little green ball! They insisted that we temporarily suspend reading time last night just to watch her scoot. I just love it that they love her! Although their feelings may quickly fade once Amelia starts getting into their "stuff"!
So, in honor of big sisters and little sisters, please share a fun story about one of your siblings! I'll go first...
When Claire was about 2, she loved to talk on the phone to Aunt Jill (she still does). Whenever she was done talking to Aunt Jill, she would always say, "Bye-bye! See ya Aunt Jill!" This has evolved into Claire not even saying it anymore, and Jill and I adopting it as our offical "good bye". We say it at the end of every phone call, but it has turned into one big word sounding like this: buhbyeceeya. We even end our emails with "bbcy". Weird, I know...at least we're in it together.
What's your story?

That picture of your girls is absolutely priceless! It needs to go in a frame. :)
Hmmm, I am gonna have to think about a sibling story...
Bye, bye see ya!
A Sibling Story...
Okay, so right off the bat, I have to say that full length mirrors in your home can become a great source of entertainment for pets and children. When my little sis, Jackie, and I were maybe 6 and 8 respectively, apparently one day we had our picture taken. So when we got home, we stood in front of these full length mirrors in our foyer; Jac in front, me in back. Jac swayed to the left as I swayed to the right, side to side over and over again. Then, in unison, we would repeatedly chant... "Jac and Jill just got their picture taken. Jac and Jill just got their picture taken." It was so corny, but for some reason, we got a total kick out of ourselves. Perhaps we didn't have enough toys growing up. :)
Just to clarify the toy comment...there were plenty of toys when it came time to pick 'em up and put 'em away!
LOVE YA,
Mom
Sibling stories always crack the sibs up, but probably aren't so funny to the average listener. But I'll have to leave a little story anyhow...
My brother had (he's getting a little better) a tendency to lose his temper rather quickly. One time we were on vacation in the Smoky Mountains, and we were starving as we drove and drove and drove in the car. Starving + short-temper = don't mess with him. We grabbed a can of easy cheese and some crackers to snack in the car until we reached our destination. The easy cheese, when opened by Bub, sort of exploded cheese on my bro. To this day I laugh about it, and he still gets upset at the whole incident.
