We have a sick little girl.


Saturday night, Claire started running a fever and vomited throughout the night. She was running a fever of as high as 105.5.


We kept an eye on her, but her temps never went below 100.5. She pretty much ate nothing all day Sunday.


This morning (Monday), I called the doctor, and we took her in to be seen. She has a UTI (which she's had before), but she's also dehydrated and she can't keep her temps down.


So, we're in the hospital at least until morning. Blah.


Claire is extremely irritable (especially when her temps are high) and she can be downright insistent and cranky at times.


Honestly, it's almost amusing when she starts getting nasty because she's not typically like that.


The problem is that she doesn't like taking her medicine. We had to hold her down once already tonight. The good news is that she actually swallowed 4 pills (just like an adult) because she didn't want to chew them! She was mad about the whole thing (because she's cranky like that right now), but at least she did it! Yay.


She's also having problems with ketones that were in her urine sample. And she might have bacteria in her blood which would need to be treated with an antibiotic through an IV. We won't know about this until tomorrow or Wednesday.
