meredith's.shoes

These are Meredith's favorite shoes. She wears them everywhere. Everywhere....and with everything. I picked them up at the resale for a couple of bucks. I figured she'd like them.

I didn't know how much. She's been wearing them for months. I thought they were probably getting too small. I think she's stretching them out.

This particular picture that I've posted was taken at some point over the summer. The girls love taking pictures of their feet, so I assumed that I would be able to find a picture of these shooes in my files. It was easy.

Well, our little Meredith is wearing a hole right through one of her shoes. What do I do? I encourage her to put on different shoes, but they just don't "feel right" to her. She's particular like that.

They are Circo brand (Target), but I know they don't sell them any longer. So, I jump on eBay....really what can't you find on eBay? I don't even know what to type in. I try "Circo Black and White Shoes". No size, no girl, no nothing fancy.

It was like a sign from above. Up pops 1 listing for Circo Black and White Shoes size 9 (like new)which was ending in 3 hours. She's currently in size 8. Wow. They were only 89 cents...of course the shipping was almost $6.

Pure craziness. She is going to be thrilled.

We're especially thankful for this one....

Thank you, Lord, for our children.

baby.shower

Oh my goodness did we have a good time at Jill's baby shower! I cannot wait until this baby girl arrives...I'm going to be such a baby hog. That is, if I can steal her from my mom.

Here are some pics from the shower. These are just the detail ones...I'll have some fun ones of Jill and me and the girls later! Enjoy!!
You're driving down the road, and of course we live in the country and not too many people have been to my house. And even if they have, they just might miss the driveway...I did several times even after we moved in. So, I made little signs for the end of the driveway...

And then one in the middle of the driveway where ours splits with the neighbor's. If you've not been to my house, you don't know which driveway is ours!!! I wanted our guests to go the right way!

On a side note, I totally scored with those pumpkins. I wanted to get real pumpkins, but you can't find pumpkins once Halloween is over. What a crock. Anyway, because it was almost Thanksgiving, I got those puppies at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago 80% off! No joke. Originally $16.99 each...got them for $3.40 each. What a deal...and they are awesome looking.

Not like you couldn't figure out which door was the front door (yes, there was a time when you had 3 to choose from), but I really wanted a pink fluffy wreath for the outside.

Some yummy cupcakes.

And chocolate covered peanuts for favors. My big girls filled the bags...they were so happy to help!

Can't wait to meet your baby, Jill!

thankfulness.

This is what Claire made at co-op today. Everyone was supposed to draw pictures of things for which they are thankful, and then they made them into placemats.

She had drawn a picture of Jesus dying on the cross and of ice cream! How could I love this any more? Jesus AND ice cream....hey, she knows where her priorities lie.

Josh and I were both beaming with pride as she showed it to us. We're so proud of you, Claire.

baby.hudson

We went and visited my good friend Julie this past week (hence the lack of blogging!).

Check out Claire and Hudson...

Aren't they so cute?!! I bought a new camera on Monday, so Julie said that I could practice on Hudson! I'll post about our trip soon, but here are some adorable pics of Hudson to get you by until I post again!

He's seriously this happy almost all of the time!

good.day

We have deer meat!

And it's not just any deer meat....it's buck deer meat!!! The "buck" part doesn't make the meat better, but it does make the hunt and the pictures better!

I'm so excited for Josh. He killed this big ol' buck last night (close to dark), but he couldn't find him. He called me right after he found him this morning, and I thought he was going to jump through the phone!

The girls were excited too!

10.years.ago

Ten years ago today, I was a 20 year old girl who was sitting in an Applebees across from a 22 year old boy who would eventually become my husband.

Here are some of my random memories from that day:

1. I was wearing a green long sleeved shirt and jeans (the most expensive pair of jeans I've ever bought...I think they were $52).

2. Josh was wearing a cream shirt with orange and blue stripes on the sleeves and jeans.

****Side note...it doesn't surprise Josh at all that I remember these details.

3. Josh ordered chicken pot pie, and I can't remember for the life of me what I ordered. It was probably something chickenish.

4. We sat at our table and talked for 3 1/2 hours.

5. This was "just lunch" (not a date) so we paid for our own meals...although I think Josh paid for the tip.

6. We took a combined 3 bathroom breaks during our lunch. Josh-2, me-1

7. I skipped my afternoon math class because I didn't want to leave.

8. I think we would have sat there through dinner if I hadn't had to go to work.

9. I walked away thinking, "I want to marry him!"

And I did. And I would do it all over again.

first.hunt

Meredith got to go on her first hunt a few weeks ago!

She was getting her first makeup lesson from her daddy...

Looks good, Meredith!

Two little girls and two ducks!

One of Josh's best friends, has a little girl that's a few months older than Meredith. It was a double-date hunt! The best part was that she and her friend were talking about going hunting during Sunday school. Now, how often do you hear two 4-year old little girls chatting it up about their duck hunt? Priceless.

halloween.night

So, we had a really fun halloween night! We got together with some family and friends, had dinner, and went trick-or-treating.

If you click on the collage, you can see the pictures much bigger! I'll explain a few of the pics...

Group shot: Escapee Amelia had to be wrangled in by the big lion behind her.

Amelia screaming: She was holding a Twix on the way to our trick-or-treat destination, and somehow she got it open!! I took it away from her, and that was her response....for several minutes. What can I say? I would have acted the same way if someone took a Twix away from me.

Little H: He was the cutest little frog that I've EVER seen. Amelia is going to marry him for sure! She'll just have to kiss him to turn him into a little prince. :)

Black cat: While we were out TOTing, a black cat actually crossed our path! I am one of the least superstitious people you will ever meet, so I thought it was really funny. The best part was this...the thing only had about a 2 inch tail. You can't see it very well, but it was pretty stumpy.

And our manly hubbies had to have an arm wrestling competition. Let it be known that Josh won. You're such a stud, babe!

who.me?

Amelia is sporting some CRAZY hair in this picture, but I need a good caption for it....any suggestions?

She made her way out to the table that had an open bag of M&M's on it before the rest of us the other morning. She was obviously guilty.

...and I need a caption. :)
