9.years

The last 9 years of my life have been filled with more laughter, more challenges, more growth and maturity, and more beautiful memories than I ever thought possible. Thank you, Josh, for walking beside me in this life with 4 of the greatest kids I've ever met. Happy Anniversary! I love you so much!!

All I can say is that this girl cracks me up!  The best part about going to the bathroom?  The hand dryer, of course!!  Non-stop giggles! :)

And this morning, Amelia made up her own version of "Hush Little Baby" at breakfast:  Hush little baby don't say a word, Mama's gonna buy you a diamond goat.

Can't get enough of that girl!

4.months

Guess who's baby is 4 months old! {I'll give you two guesses, but I think you'll only need one.}  Mine.

We took Olivia in today for her 4 month checkup, and I'll sum up the appointment in two words: itty bitty.  She weighs 9 lbs. 14 oz.  This is up from a week and a half ago when she weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz.  Not too bad, but unfortunately she's not even on the chart.  :(

We're going to work on fattening her up.  Apparently she sleeps just a little too much at night, and we have to start waking her up for an extra feeding {I know, I know...seems a little wrong when the baby is totally sleeping through the night}.  What can I say?  She likes to sleep at night.  She IS her father's daughter.

And she has one other little issue.  Her head.  It's a little small {ok, really it's a lot small}, but I'm not super-concerned since she's doing everything she's supposed to be doing.  We had the same issue with Amelia, but Amelia was a bit fatter so it wasn't as much of a concern.  We have to visit another doc for a second opinion. I'll keep you posted.

On to fun news.  Here are some fun facts about Olivia:
-smiles
-giggles
-rolls over from her front to her back
-loves to roll onto her side when she's on her back {she curls her little legs up and rolls over onto her side in a tiny ball...it is seriously adorable}
-sucks on her two middle fingers on her left hand
-spits up on herself as soon as I change her clothes
-burps as well as any grown man
-has worn out her first set of batteries in her swing
-sleeps in her bed {all night...well, up until now}
-sweet as sugar
-nicknames: Livi, Livi Lu, the littlest miss, sweet pea, sweet girl, sweetness, pumpkin pie

Love, love, love this baby!  She is such a sweetheart, and we're just loving watching her grow!

book.worm

As most of you know, I've been reading like crazy for the last few months.  Nursing kind of forces me to sit still for 20-30 minutes at a time, multiple times throughout the day.

The house is screaming, "THIS IS NOT A PERK!"  On the other hand, my mind is loving it.

I figured that I should start documenting the books that I'm reading.  I'd like to look back and actually be able to recall the books that I read.

I am constantly having a debate within on whether my next book should be fiction or non-fiction.  I have so many non-fiction books on my "to read" list, and I learn so much from them.  I find myself feeling borderline-guilty when I sneak in a fiction book here and there.  Does anyone else struggle with this?

The thing is, I love a good fiction book!  And I read through them so quickly {mostly I think it's because I don't have to concentrate as much!}.

So, you'll see some books pop up around here from time to time.  Hope they give you some ideas on what you might pick up next!

I'm currently reading Upgrade: 10 Secrets to the Best Education for Your Child.  What are you reading?

sweet.innocence

My girls are watching the part in Tangled where Flynn and Rapunzel almost kiss. Meredith comments, "They were going to kiss on the lips? They aren't married...why were they going to kiss on the lips?!"

Oh, please, please, please can we bottle up this innocence and keep it for another 10-15 years?!
