ucky.part

Often, when Amelia is eating anything, she spits a small part out and says, "Ucky part!" (a.k.a. yucky/icky part)

Tonight, we were on our way home, and we hear Amelia say, "Ucky part!" Here's how the rest went:

Me: Yucky part, Amelia?

Amelia: Yah. (that's how she says yes)

Meredith: Yucky part of what, Amelia?

Me: I'm not quite sure...she's not eating anything.

(moment of silence)

Amelia: Nose.

quote.of.the.day

I found this on another blog today, and it is SO where I am right now....

“The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less.” --Anna Quindlen

excuses.excuses

And this is my excuse: a (little!) bun in the oven.*

*consequences of a bun in the oven:
  • lack of blogging
  • lack of cooking
  • lots of couch sitting
  • lots of plain Cheerios (at the beginning)
  • lots of Frosted Mini Wheats (now)
  • lack of cleaning the house
  • pure exhuastion
Hopefully, our little bun will have some mercy on me soon!  We're about 12 weeks along, and I'm due March 20.  I'll blog more about the girls' reaction and my pregnancy (thus far) when I have a bit more energy! :)
