Sometimes a little slobber on your chin can be completely adorable.

i.can't.know

Where the normal individual uses the phrase, "I don't know."  Amelia uses the phrase, "I can't know."

Example:

Me:  Amelia, where did you put your bunny?
A: I can't know!

Will she ever grow out of it?  I can't know, but {unfortunately} I'm sure she will.

quote.of.the.day

Disclaimer for Claire:  I love you.  Please don't hate me for posting this, but it is too funny not to be remembered.  You'll thank me later.  That last statement may or may not be true.

Setup:  I'm in the kitchen.  Claire's in the bathroom.

"Mom!  I think I must have eaten skunk.  My poop smells just like skunk!"

I can't make this stuff up, people.  The child is stinkin' funny. :)

finger.sucker

See? Now it's the fingers. After this week, I'm convinced she's going to be a finger-sucker like her big sister, Meredith. {Enter sigh...Meredith is 6 and we're still working on getting those fingers out of her mouth in the middle of the night.} I'm not sure which fingers they will be, but fingers for sure. She currently has no preference: right hand, left hand, two fingers, three fingers, maybe just one. There's no rhyme or reason with the finger-suckage.

Oh, and she rolled over from her belly to her back 3 times today! And we had her weighed this evening...only 9 lbs. 6 oz. She's eating well and sleeping well and cooing and laughing out loud {ok, just twice, but it was seriously one of the cutest things EVER}.

Bottom line: I have a tiny, adorable baby.

Ladies and Gentlemen!!! {drumroll please} We've got ourselves a thumb sucker.

Or maybe fingers. Who knows. I seem to catch her slobbering up her digits on both hands these days.

3.months.old

Our little Olivia was 3 months old yesterday! Time is flying by already! Here's what she's doing:

-sleeping through the night
-smiling like crazy
-sucking on her thumbs/fingers/hands/fists
-cooing
-batting at her hanging toys
-eating, eating, eating

She loves to be held.
She loves the snuggli.
She loves to cry as soon as I put dinner on the table.
She loves her swing.
She loves it when people talk to her.
She doesn't like getting her clothes changed.
She doesn't like baths.
She doesn't like to be held a lot while you're sitting down. (We attribute this to the fact that we now have 4 children, and I rarely get to sit and rock with her except when I'm nursing.)

We absolutely adore her...all 5 of us! We love you, Olivia Noelle! :)

fun.with.googly.eyes

So what do you do when it's rainy outside? Play with googly-eyes, of course!!

Amelia was the funniest! We decided that pinching your eyes shut was the best method. {I could barely take pictures because I was laughing so hard!}

I asked my facebook friends, and now I'll ask you...what do you do for fun on rainy days? I'll post my finalized list soon!

watering.charlottes

When the girls go to Josh's parents' house in the summer, they usually get to help Grandma plant flowers, water flowers, or water the ferns.  Meredith came home the other day and was talking about how much they watered the hanging plants (until they spit water out the bottom of the container).

She couldn't remember what they were called.  I reminded her...ferns.  (Insert immediate association with the movie "Charlotte's Web".  Fern is the little girl in the story.)

Later, she was telling me the story again about how she "just loved watering those...uh...Charlottes...with Grandma."

Ferns. :)

sweet.times

Josh and I went to a wedding last night, so we took the three big girls to Josh's parents' house to spend the night.  Olivia spent the evening with some good friends of ours, and we picked her back up on our way back home since she and I are connected at the hip (ok, not really the hip...insert unnamed body part here, since this is a family blog).

Anyway, this morning after I nursed her, we just laid in bed together talking/cooing and smiling.  (Recall, if you will, what our typical morning routine looks like.) So, it was extremely sweet and reminded me of when I did this with Claire almost every morning when she was a baby.

Sweet, sweet moments that I don't want to forget!
